A New Name in Document Scanning

      Grosvenor
      Paper Services

That's the new name in the world of document scanning. But what does
this have to do with Intelligent Filing? Well, not only are the nice
people at GPS an extremely professional bunch, they're also the first
bureau to be recognised as "Authorised cdview Distributors" - and again,
the question, what does this have to do with Intelligent Filing?

Well, you may recall that as well as consulting, we do like to create
document management software for the home
      and office
. What you won't know is that we develop secret projects as test beds
for development, one off jobs etc. One such project goes by the name of cdview.

cdview is a viewing tool supplied on CDs (hence the name) from
bureaus after a scanning job completes. Each disc contains the full
viewing application and database for the job. It also comes as a
networked version where a central database can be accessed by the client
      software.

So if you're interested in outsourced document scanning, then contact sales@grosvenorpaper.co.uk
and if you're a bureau looking to expand your portfolio of services and
a CD based product might be what you need, then contact enquiries@intelligentfiling.com.

officescanners.co.uk

      In our first
post we mentioned our company wide initiative and item 3 was:

"Produce a dedicated outlet to home software and hardware which formerly
      resided on intelligentfiling.com"

So, we have - in the form of officescanners.co.uk -
this site is currently serving up all sorts of tasty deals on quite a
wide range of document scanners from the likes of Fujitsu, Panasonic,
Kodak, Canon and Visioneer. We're still adding items to the catalogue -
so if you can't see a scanner you're looking for, then call us and we'll
      get you the costs.

What you won't find on officescanners.co.uk is document storage products
and document scanning software. The software (such as EMC's InputAccel
Express, eCopy etc) can have quite a complex pricing structure and this
doesn't really fit well with online selling; yes it is possible to have
a few "bundles" but thats a one size fits all approach and thats not
what we're about - we always want our clients to receive the best
service and ensure that they receive the products that they want - no
      compromise.

We still supply this software though, so if you're after costs, then
speak with one of our sales team as they'll be able to get you a
detailed break down. This is not to say that the site will be completely
void of software - some will make it's way onto the site while other's
      such as the e-VU
Products have found new permanent homes - but if in doubt, contact
      us.

Document storage products are a completely different kettle of fish
though; with the prevalence of cheap storage (NAS, SAN) etc, the
enquiries we receive have lessened to such an extent, that the work
required to ensure that the information we carry on our site is current,
is far greater than it's benefit to our business - and if our resources
are being drained on a cause which is not worthwhile - this impacts our
ability to service our clients in other areas. So, the section has gone
from this site, and it won;t reappear on officescanners.co.uk either -
but, we'll always be able to help by phone
or email (we wouldn't turn our back on any section of our client
base we just have to work smarter).

So there you have it, officescanners.co.uk completes our quartet of
changes - so put us to the test today and see how we can benefit your
business - you'll never know unless you try!

myOfficeFiling.com for all things e-VU

As we mentioned in our last post, we embarked on our four pillars
initiative late last year - but this isn't strictly true, we'd actually
set off down this path much earlier in the year - we just hadn't
realised it. By this we mean file@home and the myhomefiling.com
web site. v2 of the file@home software came with an updated web
site and we were actually getting interest in the product - downloads a
plenty and wait for it, yes, paying customers!

When we looked at our e-VU software (especially e-VU
Professional) and how we were marketing the product (buried deep
within intelligentfiling.com) it was so blindingly obvious that it
needed to follow the file@home strategy we all had to wear
      sunglasses for a week.....

So that's what happened - we rebuilt the software from the ground up -
and ensured we stuck to the plan; no feature creep - which is bloody
hard work btw, and then we turned our attention to the marketing/web
presence - and what do you know - myofficefiling.com
materialised, and do you know it's paying off in a big way. Our download
rate is through the roof (compared to the previous download history),
you can google the name e-VU now and you won't have to go trawling
through pages and pages of rubbish to find information, it'll be listed
      on page 1.

A remarkable turn around we think you'll agree and one that we'll
continue to develop over the coming months.

So with this site trimmed down, file@home over at myhomefiling.com
and e-VU residing at the myofficefiling.com
towers you could say we're feeling pretty chuffed with ourselves - but
what to do about all that pesky software and hardware?

      Until the next time

intelligentfiling.com site update

Welcome to the new look intelligentfiling.com.

As part of our renewed focus on the provision of consultancy services to
our clients, the site content has been trimmed down and you'll find that
it's now devoid of all software and product information (obviously if
you've never been to the site before, then you wouldn't have know that
information used to reside here - but we digress).

Anyway, maintaining a "one-stop-shop" of information was becoming
problematic for both us and for people visiting the site, and with no
clear direction it was too easy to get lost in the maze of links. Even
our own software products (e-VU Express and e-VU Professional) felt as
though they never belonged to the site, that they'd just been tagged on.

So our four pillars initiative was put into place during the latter half
of last year. This initiative breaks down like so:

1. Focus Intelligent Filing back onto it's strongest asset, document
management consultancy

2. Provide Intelligent Filing (business) software a dedicated "space"
on the internet

3. Produce a dedicated outlet to home software and hardware which
formerly resided on intelligentfiling.com

4. Allow our consumer product room to breath by removing as much
Intelligent Filing "corporate" influence as possible

So, before your very eyes you see some of the work which has gone into
tackling No. 1. But what about the others? Well, if you keep a close
watch on this very blog announcements will be coming thick and fast
over the next few days.

For now, please take a look around the site and feel free to contact
us with any questions.

Kind Regards

Dave Poyser

Associate Director
